What you see is not always what you get, and the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Perpetual Calendar showcases this perfectly. Behind the facade of what appears like a Streamliner Centre Seconds with date, in fact, lies an intricate perpetual calendar – if you know where to look. The date window peers out at you from the 4 o’clock position, diagonally symmetrical to the power reserve indicator. The hour indices have two roles here – measuring the traditional lapse of the hours in a day, but also doubling as indices for the 12 months of the year – with a small red and white central arrow indicating the current month. The leap-year indicator is found on the back of the movement, where one can admire this feat of engineering through the open caseback. Finally, with the ability to set date and month forwards or backwards, the capabilities of this otherwise unassuming watch seem endless.
