Launched to celebrate the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex Daytona “Le Mans” immediately stood out as an exclusive introduction in Watches and Wonders 2023. The debut reference, produced in white gold, generated intense interest but remained in production for only a brief period before being discontinued in 2024.

Later that same year, Rolex quietly unveiled a successor in yellow gold. This iteration has been handled with extreme discretion: it does not appear in official catalogues and is absent from the brand’s website.

Aesthetically, the watch bridges heritage and contemporary design. The dial architecture references the legendary “Paul Newman”, but with an upgraded 24-hour sub-dial in place of the usual 12-hour totalizer. The case, however, is firmly rooted in the latest Daytona generation, incorporating a black ceramic tachymeter bezel highlighted by a red “100” to honor the Le Mans centennial, along with a sapphire display caseback, a detail previously seen only on the platinum Daytona, showcasing the movement within.
