To mark the Tank Chinoise’s centenary in 2022, Cartier revisited the elongated variant of its Tank line, emphasizing strong brancards that frame the case and draw from the porticos of East Asian religious architecture.

Although the 1922 Tank Chinoise was originally square, elongated iterations have surfaced over the past century. For the anniversary, alongside revised time-only limited editions in pink gold, yellow gold, and platinum, Cartier released three skeletonized models that lean even more heavily on East Asian motifs. Both the case brancards and the movement’s dial-side bridges are lacquered and skeletonized into geometric patterns drawn from Chinese design.
