In 2023, Jean-Claude Biver began distilling a lifetime of horological experience into a new watch brand, independent of the large luxury groups controlling so much of the industry. Launching the eponymous brand with his son at his side, there is a clear dedication to absolute quality at every level of manufacture, as well as a celebration of traditional craftsmanship. The Automatique Series houses Biver’s exceptional micro-rotor cal. JCB-003, with a 65-hour power reserve and hacking seconds. Finished without compromise, the movement is particularly striking for its clous de Paris bridges and lavish black polishing. This example, in 18ct 3N yellow gold, is believed to be the first offered for private sale and the first from the Carbon series. Presented, of course, with the original box and papers, plus an additional strap.
