Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph
Ref. 5960P-001
Introduced in 2006, the Patek Philippe 5960 marked an important milestone for the brand: it was Patek’s first self-winding chronograph with an in-house automatic movement and an annual calendar. Housed in a 40.5 mm platinum case with a sunburst charcoal grey dial, the 5960P-001 quickly became a contemporary icon for collectors.
The dial layout is both technical and elegant. Three apertures along the top indicate the day, date, and month. A power reserve indicator sits just below 12 o’clock, while a large mono-counter at 6 o’clock combines chronograph hours and minutes with a running seconds hand. Applied hour markers and carefully balanced typography keep the display legible despite its complexity.
Crafted in platinum and paired with a rich brown alligator strap, the 5960P-001 has become one of the key modern references for Patek enthusiasts, representing the brand’s shift into contemporary high-complication chronographs while retaining the understated luxury and technical mastery that define Patek Philippe.
