Photo Report: The Independent Spirit Exhibition in London
By Logan Baker
Scenes from our recent exhibition dedicated to independent watchmaking.
From 13 to 15 March 2025, Phillips PERPETUAL hosted an exclusive exhibition in London, spotlighting five luminaries of contemporary independent watchmaking: Konstantin Chaykin, Raúl Pagès, Theo Auffret, Charles Frodsham, and David Candaux. Over the course of three days, approximately 250 guests attended, admiring an array of remarkable timepieces — both on display and worn by attendees.
Unlike large-scale watch fairs, this intimate gathering provided a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to engage directly with the watchmakers, gaining firsthand insight into their inspirations and craftsmanship. A standout moment of the event was the unveiling of Charles Frodsham & Co.’s latest creation, the Double-Impulse Chronometer Hidden Seconds.
For collectors, Independent Spirit represented a unique chance to not only view these exceptional watches in person but also to engage with the creators shaping the future of watchmaking. Additionally, select highlights from the upcoming Geneva Watch Auction: XXI were on display, offering guests an exclusive preview of the exciting auction season ahead.
